At MARUF 2025, I moderated “Writing the City While Drawing / Drawing the City While Writing”, held on 2 October from 14:00 to 15:00 at C11-Creative Stage. With Ertuğ Uçar, Aysun Altındağ and Oğul Can Öztunç, we discussed ways of telling the city through words and drawings.

Countless books have been written about the history, architecture and geography of cities. Why, then, are there so few urban books made by drawing, writing and recording personal memory? Following this question, the panel considered how words and lines work together, and different ways of experiencing and representing the city.
