The İzdüşüm documentary, which brought to the screen, in a film of two episodes, the reflections on the lands of Türkiye of architectural and artistic movements from around the world, met its viewers on the TRT Belgesel channel in September 2017.
Aiming to help the architectural culture of Türkiye grow, and to be a document of our country's richness in culture, art and architecture, the İzdüşüm documentary focuses in its first episode on the Art Nouveau architectural heritage in Türkiye. Born in the 19th century, after the industrial revolution, as a reaction to standardisation and to the break with craft, Art Nouveau found a wide place for itself in Istanbul, the heart of the Ottoman Empire in its years of decline, above all in Galata and Pera, and spread under the patronage of Sultan Abdülhamid II. In the documentary we will watch that story, and it is possible to see dozens of different buildings, from houses to mosques, from religious buildings to the first fashion house built in these lands.
